Lucrezia Abatzoglu Italian Greek, b. 1992

Lucrezia Abatzoglu, born in Rome and raised in Greece, is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist based in London, UK. Her practice is deeply rooted in her multicultural upbringing, drawing inspiration from diverse landscapes and cultures. Lucrezia’s paintings embody silence as a poetic element, establishing a tangible connection with an unattainable reality. The female body exudes monumentality as tries to transcend physicality and become some- thing more than mere body.

 

Lucrezia holds a Bachelor of Costume and Fashion from Accademia di Costume e Moda (Rome, Italy). In 2021, she attended the Correspondence Course (CC) at Turps Banana in London. She recently completed a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London (UAL). Her work has been showcased in various London exhibitions, including those for the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI). Lucrezia has garnered notable recognition, having been shortlisted for the ACS Studio Prize in London in 2023 and reaching finalist status in the Prisma Art Prize in Rome in 2023/24. Her education forms a rich tapestry of influences, enrich- ing her practice and fueling her approach to contemporary visual art.
