Recipient of THE TAGLI Mentorship Award 2024: Heeyoung Noh: In collaboration with the Folco Collection

We are thrilled to announce that the recipient of the THE TAGLI 2024 Mentorship Award in collaboration with the Folco Collection is Heeyoung Noh. Heeyoung is a figurative painter who explores colonial trauma and diaspora by reproducing body images from South Korea. Having first studied at the Sungshing W. University from Seoul,  she recently graduated from an MFA at the Glasglow School of Art.

We look forward to starting our year long mentorship journey with Heeyoung, guiding her as she develops her incredible practice, whilst navigating the market.

"My practice explores the collective trauma derived from experiences of war and colonialism, hidden within our collective identity, through a feminist and diasporic lens. By using images of the naked female body, I aim to recreate metaphorical depictions of the sorrowful legacy inherited from previous generations. Traumas from colonial oppression, state violence, and misogynistic cultures are deeply embedded in the genes of our grandparents, passed down to our parents, and then to us."
